Wild Earth Yarns Baby Hugg Boots and Matching Hat

This pattern is designed to fit 6–9 months. Please note that this is a general size only—little babies vary a great deal in size. The Hugg boots have soft, fluffy 100% NZ sheepskin soles to keep little toes warm. The matching hat has some options for the brim and top finishing.

Yarn: Wild Earth Yarns Merino. You will need 2 × 50 g balls to make a set of Hugg Boots and matching hat: one ball of each colour or two balls of a single colour. If you want to make ONLY the hat OR the boots in a single colour, you will require 1 × 50 g ball.

Needles:

Hugg Boots: 3.75 mm straight needles, plus a larger needle, e.g. 4.00 mm, for casting off.

Hat:

• Straight knitting: 3.75 mm and 4.00 mm needles.
• Knitting in the round: a set of 3.75 mm and 4.00 mm double-pointed needles.
• Circular knitting: 3.75 mm and 4.00 mm × 40 cm circular needles. You will also need a set of 4.00 mm double-pointed needles to complete the crown decreases, and a stitch marker.

3 buttons, optional.

Darning needle for sewing seam and soles. Long pins.
